OKE RA KA

OKE RA KA is a karaoke CutUp where various songs get chopped into tiny pieces - accordingly JUST to the harmonies of the sounds NOT the lyrics.

After the rearrangement the new songs have now meshed up lyrics which let each contributor/singer generate a very unprepossessed and unique interpretation of the sing along song.

E.g 10 philippine tracks get boiled down to one new mesh up version.

This video performance starts in a dark room.

At times you can hear crushing glass accompanied of a short lightning;

The noise and the light lead directly to a spyhole which enables the visitors to have a look into the room next door.

What you get to see is probably the best employee of the world.

RECEPTION/ Empfang

The bunny in this video performance is relocating the antenna to find the perfect reception.

As the signal is to weak for a steady image this procedure might take years...

But nevertheless the bunny keeps on trying to get a good visual connection as he knows that this is the only way to communicate with the outside world.

5 split video installation

Part of my diploma "REPETITION" Conception and realisation of a 5 split video performance (3600*576 px)

PROCEDURE
The clips start seperately but depend on each other. Every clip ends with a loop. the looping point is were the next videoclip starts.

CONTENT
Main focus are the repetitive patterns in everyday life. To interpret the repetition in a visual way the clips end in a loop - coevally that shows the irresistible force of destiny.

RABBIT PAD/ Hasenzimmer

The rabbit lives in a 4-room appartement and has to perform an endless row of tasks. Similar to ordinary cartoons this rabbit is living in a bright and colorful enviroment.

But as this character is actually working every second in his life, he must be extremely exhausted! Do cartoons never sleep?

Are they doomed to live their whole life under the rules of the director?

LOST IN PARADISE

The video installation consists of the front part of a pew - this forces the visitor to sit on his knees during the video session. The pew is constructed for two visitors. On the right side you can find some headphones which provide a praying loop of a group of men in a church (praying an endless AVE MARIA).

The female equivalent can be found on the left side of the pew (this is due to the seating arrangements in a cath. church). The video screen shows two talking mouth by turns. The mouth with red lips is giving account of its sins. Instead of explaining the sins in detail the person just keeps on repeating the sentence: I HAVE SIN! This leads to a endless row of unknown sins. The second mouth is the antipole of the arrangement in LOST IN PARADISE. The colorless and cool person represents the cath. church and punishes the sinner saying: " pray one AVE MARIA".As visual cut gets faster, this changes imperceptible the role of the two and in the end the original sinner tells the church to pray one AVE MARIA.
